I feel a little better every day
"[Positive and happy self-help stuff] lasers in on what you perceive your personal shortcomings and failures to already be, and then emphasizes them for you."

No doubt my inclination to fulfil personal aspects where I find myself vulnerable the most. I think this tendency is inevitable. It is good to know myself and keep improving. The author is, however, emphasising the “not-right” attitude inflicted by those actions. I won't comment further because I am reading the book as well; will share once I have the answer :)
